Well, they were definitely rude and I don't blame you for blocking. I do have to wonder what hobbies they do find 'brainy' because writing is generally seen as something pretty intellectual (unless it's smut, but, honestly, that can take as much thought as writing anything else). Are they solving Millennium Prize Problems in their spare time? Giving Ted Talks? Translating Elder Futhark into Sanskrit?

I do kind of agree. I mean, I probably won't see it, but I do like the art direction. It actually reminds me a little of Stardust (which I liked).

Writing is basically thinking with purpose as one is creating prose. It's one of the brainiest activities there is.

I wonder what issues she's projecting onto you...

It is weird, contradictory, and rude....but do you consider this person a fandom acquaintance or an actual friend? Because if it's the latter, shouldn't you be able to have a conversation about this where you can bring up your feelings about it to them? Is it really necessary to just end a friendship over this?
