I once tried to read AS (It's not a widely known book in my country, I thought it was some sort of scifi story) but I tapped out before any sexytimes

It technically is science fiction (the genius capitalists keep inventing new kinds of magical industrial technologies). Very stupid science fiction, though.

How far did you get before you gave up? I got 3 pages in when a month had passed by and I had to return the book to the library

AYRT I don't remember, it's been years... but not to 100 pages, closer to 50 maybe?

would guess that that was true of ayn rand as well.
queenslayerbee: Isabelle Adjany as Lucy Harker in 1979's "Nosferatu the Vampire". She's surrounded by darkness, looking over her shoulder while she wears a white nightgown and a cross as a necklace. A hand with long nails like a claw is reaching for her neck from the darkness behind her. (Default)

I tried to read it. I got about halfway through it (circa 1000 pages, maybe?); philosophical differences aside, the most frustrating part was that the plot (capitalists escape the oppressive society holding them back!) somehow STILL hadn't started!! And if there were sex scenes before that point I definitely don't remember them LOL.

I like the first edition hardcover art.

Well, THAT's a take on this book I haven't heard before.
