Re: What will make you instantly back button on a fic?

There are a lot of things that I won't instantly backbutton for (unless I'm in a bad mood), but if more than one of them shows up, or if they show up too often, then I'm out.

In all fandoms, formatting issues (all lowercase, no paragraph breaks) are an instant backbutton, I won't stick around to see what other crimes you commit.

In Supernatural and Stranger Things specifically, I have backbuttoned out of so many fics with promising premises because Dean Winchester or Steve Harrington says something like 'whilst' or 'I've not', two things midwesterners Do Not Say. If the characters don't sound like themselves in fics in any fandom, it's a problem, but those two fandoms I just see a LOT of writers who speak British English who don't think twice about these things, and it makes me crazy as someone with an ear for dialogue, it slam dunks me right out of the characters' voices.

In Stranger Things specifically, Steve getting called 'princess'. Don't know why that's a thing, but I hate it.
