Re: Secrets you don't want to make...
(Anonymous) 2023-09-09 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)So hearing about A/B vs B/A topping wars was like watching an all out brawl from a nearby hillside with binoculars and a bucket of popcorn.
My newest OTP is m/m.
... Guys, now that I'm standing right next to the big brawl, I still don't give a fuck about who fucks who, except insofar as (bad) writing conflates top/dom/controlling asshole and bottom/sub/helpless baby bunny.
Preferred fucking position =/= whether someone's into BDSM at all or a dom or sub =/= their personality.
I get that for some authors and readers, conflating those things is its own kink. I wish they'd tag that shit, although I'm not sure what with.
Re: Secrets you don't want to make...
(Anonymous) 2023-09-09 10:12 pm (UTC)(link)And now I do have a place to properly discuss a m/m pairing I'm really into, and yeah, that debate feels a lot closer now than it used to for me as well. And like you, I don't care, either. Part of it, for me, is that I don't really feel like it's my place to tell others how they should write a pairing in that context, but a lot of it is that I just do not have enough knowledge or opinions on this topic to really have a strong opinion one way or another.
So I still just kinda sit back and quietly read the discussions.
