*Entitled shippers
Someone upthread said they don't like comments in fics demanding for a different ship to be written, and yeah, it was rampant in the Star Wars sequel trilogy fics. It happened mostly in fics involving Rey and/or Kylo Ren and if Reylo weren't together, there would be at least one, "I'm upset that Rey and Kylo/Ben aren't together!" comment.
That made me understand the disdain toward Reylo, even though in the general sense I like that ship.
...What is it about obnoxious shippers?
I was barely in the Harry Potter fandom during it's long peak in pop culture and I grew to loathe Harry/Hermione shippers (and initially I didn't have any feelings towards that ship outside of believing in canon Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione were endgame because the books literally spelled that out throughout the entire series), especially right around the release of the fifth book up until 3 or 4 years after the films were done.
TBH HP fandom killed a lot of shipping-as-part-of-fandom-fun vibes for me.

*Moral policing/purity culture in fandom, especially when throwing out "THINK OF THE CHILDREN" attitudes

*Fandom is a popularity contest and it's cliques in high school again and I'm too socially anxious to figure it out to "find my people"

+1000 to all of these

There are some ships that I was originally neutral on that I've come to loathe in both MCU and Star Wars fandoms because of bratty, entitled attitudes on the part of the shippers.

I used to be very prolific in a bandom once upon a decade or so ago, and nothing made me angrier than, "I liked the fic but it would have been better if it was A/C instead of A/B" or something of that ilk. Like, especially since there were a LOT of fics for A/C, I just happened to prefer A/B, and commenting shit like that makes me even more resistant to ever writing A/C. Go away.
