It kinda makes sense what they're doing though, IMO. If the Force flows through everything (and that's been established since ANH) then that means everyone has to have the Force to a small degree. I don't think Sabine is ever going to be a powerful Jedi and the show has said several times she's not sensitive enough for that, but using the Force a little isn't beyond her or beyond anyone with the right training.

There's also the precedent of Chirrut as a non-Jedi Force user, so if that's the endgame for Sabine, I see no problem with it.

That's been my take as well. Everyone has a bit of force sensitivity, but most don't have enough to do much with it. Also, using the Force at all takes a lot of training for most people unless they are extremely talented to begin with, and some techniques and systems need a high level and training of talent to use effectively.
