General fandoms on ao3 that you can search for fic by kudos and you'll generally have a good time.

*some spoilers for summary*

LOTR rings of power (tv series) —
Galadriel/Halbrand (F/M)

Reluctant allies to friends only to be betrayed and found out that one of them was the enemy that killed their brother and they indirectly led to the rise of power of their greatest foe.


DC universe (comics) —
Batman/Joker (M/M)

honestly most superhero/supervillain ships in comics fits the criteria for the most part tbh but this one is prob the most fucked up lol.
Self explanatory.

Dishonored (videogame) —
Corvo Attano/Daud (M/M)

An assassin kills an Empress of a country and lives to regret the plague and instability it causes. The bodyguard of the empress becomes framed for the murder and goes on a journey of revenge/justice depending on how you play the game. The bodyguard was heavily implied to be the empress' lover and the father of her child.

Alex Rider (YA series) —
Yassen Gregorovich/Alex Rider(M/M)

*Underaged/ age difference warning* not necessarily all fics, but a decent chunk***

Teenaged spy gets chucked into increasingly dangerous missions for queen and country and gets helped by the very assassin that killed his uncle and indirectly caused his coerced recruitment to Mi6.

Star Wars (movies) —
Obi-Wan Kenobi/Darth Maul(M/M)

There's quite a lot of enemy ships with Kenobi (Jango/Obi, Obi/Darth Vader) though I'd say this is the most obvious one that fits the criteria. Fics are either very good or very bad depending, so you might need to look carefully at the tags.

Assassin kills hero's mentor and then goes on to get cut in half by hero. Assassin vows vengeance, loses mind and kills the hero's love interest. The hero becomes self exiled after losing everything to a desert planet and faces off with assassin in a final cathartic duel to the death.
