I think vampires do just vary a lot in terms of relative 'evilness'. There's also Harmony who in Angel makes a genuine attempt at reforming without a soul (tho she's not very good at it) + an episode of Angel featuring a vampire couple who are genuinely deeply in love. In Buffy it's also explicitly the case that the Judge can kill some but not all vampires because not every vampire is 100% evil.

In short I don't think Spike is unique or special, I think he just happened to get experiences & opportunities that most vampires don't have.

& my take on Angelus is that he's just that much of a dick.

I...love both games so very much, but never finished the plot of either of them- mostly due to being totally appalled by all the voice acting during cutscenes. Only did the first boss/temple in TotK, even. There's just that much to run around and do in the games!

I think for me it's that most dirty talk veers into humiliation territory and that's just not my jam for sex-talk on any level. Like descriptions of what's going on and utterly filthy imagery I am fully on board with, but the moment a character calls another some variation of a 'dirty cockslut' I start laughing and proceed to skim the dialouge for the rest of the sex scenes in the story.

I think porn dialogue is hard to write and is very YMMV, and for me it misses 99% of the time.

Sorry, OP. I love dirty talk. Not humiliation/insult stuff, but "you are so hot, I need you now" kind of dirty talk. Just characters so into each other and being blunt about it.

For me, it's when it's either out of character or the exact same terms every time in every fic (frequently both). I don't mind dirty talk, but I do mind boring dialogue!
