Man people really wanna hate on the fucking teenager who was literally never going to succeed and was groomed into an assassin by the adult in the room, huh?

For real. He was, what, 15-16? Teenagers are stupid. This is a constant in life. They do dumb things and make stupid mistakes and generally people understand that teenagers make stupid decisions and so are more quick to forgive them than they are grown adults, who by all rights should know better.

Not just that, but he's a child out of wedlock between a prostitute and a politically popular guy in Japan. AND his mother committed suicide. These are all things borderline unforgivable in Japan.

Exactly. Like, yeah, I would forgive a teenager who literally had no good influences in his life a lot more easily than I would an adult who (presumably) would have the maturity and experience to have more perspective on things than ANY teenager would, much less one who had such a skewed upbringing to begin with.

A kid who pretty clearly knew he had no future anyway in that society so why not blow it all up and take down the man who ruined his beloved mother's life with him.

Like, do people think Akechi was planning on getting away Scot free??? He didn't care what happened to him in the end so long as he got to boost Shido up and then snatch it away at his moment of triumph because it was the only thing he could conceive of hurting him nearly as much as all the pain that drove his mom to suicide did.
