Transcript: I started playing Baldur's Gate 3 and it's brought upon me a crisis as i have discovered through this game that it is canonically correct that Gith lay eggs. Why is this a problem? Because I forum RPed a Gith character for years and repeatedly responded to accusations that gith lay eggs by claiming they were placental mammals., to the point that it became a running gag of sorts. At the time I could not find any lore about this specifically and felt like I just had to choose what made sense to me.

I feel like the character who has the most reason to punch Goro in the face is Ohya. With everyone else he targeted, I’ve seen someone come up with an excuse for what he did (some significantly less plausible than others, like anything used to justify killing Wakaba.) But no one’s been able to come up with any excuse for what he did to Ohya’s friend.

Additional ironic take: in a fix-fic where Wakaba’s death is prevented, it seems plausible Goro and Futaba could become great friends.

Do you mean as the leads OP? Because there have been shows with canon queer characters for, well not ages, but for a decently long time so that aspect isn't new. I think there's also a bit of contextual difference between the way the two romances were canonized as OFMD did it in season 1 with very obvious build-up, and Good Omens did it in season 2 after a season of deliberate ambiguity.

So I think this is a bit of apples to oranges.

Going for my customary long weekend walks if the weather isn't too wet, otherwise it might just be short trip into town to pick up some essentials and maybe a donut because I've been feeling like having one all week.

I had to grocery shop today and there were pumpkins and Halloween and Dia de los Muertos stuff out everywhere so that was fun to look at. I wound up getting a sugar skulls coloring book lol. Its apple harvest season here, and I wanted a candy apple but they've only got caramel now, boohoo. But tomorrow I'm grabbing a couple of fresh apple fritters from the farmers market stand. It finally feels like autumn here!

Yeah Op. What Good omens did that was very very different and surprising was that they took a pair that was ambiguous/hinted at, a long standing popular fan ship for years (since the novel), and made it canon. I honestly don't remember the last time that ever happened. It'd be more akin to if destiel or buddie became canon or smth.

OFMD wasn't even the first pirate show to have canonically queer main characters or have a "surprise! *Jazz hands* the main character isn't actually straight" reveal. If we really want to be pedantic, Black Sails did it first lmao.
