Non fandom impulsive purchase temptations.

I'm sitting here, trying to convince myself that I don't need and cannot really afford to blow $100+ on a rock tumbler. I had one when I was a kid, but my parents hated the noise and thought the refill kits were too expensive, so I got to use it once before they put it away and never let me play with it again. :(

Is there anything haunting your wishlist dreams, FS?

Lego. I always wanted Lego when they started coming out with the cool sets in the 90s but “it’s expensive and you’re too old.” When everyone blew off my 40th birthday despite me telling everyone that it was extremely important to me, I bought myself a Lego set and it remains one of my favorite possessions! I now have a huge collection (it’s been several years) and I still love the hobby even though I don’t buy or build as much. I’ve even sold some off to make room and finance a new hobby. But that first set will be special forever and no matter how I change up my display, it’s always included.

So many kitchen appliances I really really want but know I'll rarely use. The list is: Japanese omelette pan (I don't actually like omelette all that much); a kakigori (japanese shaved ice) machine (much too big and the proper ones are too expensive); an electric kettle that boils the exact temperature of water I want (I rarely drink green tea and have a regular kettle), a popcorn maker (a pot does the job), a cotton candy machine (I shouldn't be eating that much pure sugar) and a Tempura pot for frying (regular pot works as well, also I rarely fry anything).
I've had more than half of that list in an amazon shopping cart at some point before reason knocked me over the head again.

Man, this was the same list I had back when I lived in Japan lol

but this:
>>electric kettle that boils the exact temperature of water I want
This I bought. Worth every yen (It wasn't that expensive anyway).
It truly makes life easier, but I drink a lot of green tea during the day and herbal tea in the evening.
Having the kettle set at 70°C during the evening made refilling the cups so easy...
I miss it...

Ayrt. Yeah. The main appeal for me would actually be the constant supply of hot but not burning hot water because I have taken to drinking just hot plain water in the colder months and this would be so convenient for having water at drinking temperature without either turning the kettle off before it boils or waiting for it to cool down again.

I was just about to say 'oh man, the only non-fandom impulse purchases I ever make are food' and then I bought a decanter with a skull topper, while I was drafting my response.
