I don't care what others choose to do with subs/dubs, but I've personally always preferred subs in anything live-action because the mouth movements not lining up with the spoken words grates on me in a very short amount of time. Cartoons can get away with it though and certainly for more recent anime releases on Netflix or elsewhere I find the dubs to be perfectly fine. But I think western VA for anime has gotten better over time.

Same, no matter how good the acting is I just cannot watch live-action dubs because the mouth flaps will distract me. Animated dubs are fine.

Omg, this. If the mouth movements aren't lining up, I can't see ANYTHING ELSE and i just have to opt out. I have deleted a few movies in my time because nothing I did fixed the screwed up vocal track, and I just...could not.
