Nobody said it was a cure-all for all mental problems.

The man that OP is talking about simply suggested, in a very short clip that was a part of a compilation of other doctor "hot takes" (I put that in quotes), that meditation should be tried first. Not that it should be the only "medicine." Or that you should continue it if it is bad for you. Or that you are a bad person if it doesn't work for you.

This is why it's a secret. It didn't allow for any context at all.
