(Anonymous) 2023-10-04 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)I live in a place where the current owners of the houses skew older, so their children have long since moved out and it's just them. Of course, older people pass away or move to care homes, and their lovely big houses go on sale.
These houses are absolutely perfect for multi generational families, because they are usually pretty untouched and have really great options for extensions, etc plus driveways that can fit at least 2 cars.
Problem is, the families moving in typically have 5-6 cars to accomodate all the adults, and they have to park some of them on the road. Wide, double lane traffic is being squeezed into single lane traffic and it's dangerous to get on and off your drive.
Worst part is, just up the road the council let a car park be built then withdrew permission for a car park to be there once it got developed.
