AH! I was watching that anime when it was coming out in Japan and yeah SAME. DNF it because of the same reason. The idol was :/// not interesting at all. My boy Kongming and the OP were awesome though.
I think I made the right decision dropping it because I still have fond memories of the few eps I saw and still like the premise.
