My dad is one of these people and his reasoning is that nobody's gonna pull him over for it so it's fine. It's a very selfish, entitled mindset, but he's a retired white man so it's also not *wrong*. He's been in minor accidents and he's never been found at-fault, so he hasn't learned any lessons for his actions in his life.
