Re: Terrible drivers

I think driving is so normalized that people forget it can be really dangerous. I drive up the side of a mountain every day to get to work. The road has two lanes and I’ve lost count of the number of accidents I’ve seen because people illegally pass other cars or they speed around sharp turns. They used to have signs on the road warning people not to pass unless otherwise indicated, but the signs lasted less than a week before someone plowed through them.

I have a friend who doesn’t use turn signals on the freeway. Her excuse is that other cars speed up when they see her use a turn signal. And they do, but honestly, I’d rather be safe and use my turn signal than be unpredictable and somehow cause an accident.

My mom never used her turn signal. I hate having to ride any place with her because she is also a nervous passenger.
