Bullying, again

So, I hate bullies. If I see an adult bullying someone in real life, verbally or physically, or see someone acting like a bully in a direct response to someone's comment online, I instantly lose respect for them. It honestly really makes me angry.

It also makes me angry when people are mean or try to justify being mean to their sexual/romantic partners just for the sake of being mean (I am NOT including consensual kink stuff here). Like people who smash their bride or groom's face into wedding cake, when the person didn't consent to it or outright said they didn't want to do that. Or people who have to degrade their sexual partners for being 'easy' or whatever (again, non-consensually only). Like, you got something you wanted from them, and now you want to punish them for that?

But, weirdly enough when I'm attracted to someone, I like seeing people being mean about them while talking ABOUT them. I used to go to ONTD when I was attracted to a celebrity and read threads about them, not just to learn about them, but also because I liked reading all the comments shit talking them. Recently, I found something that's kind of borderline - there's a guy on Instagram, who is pretty hot and his reels would sometimes come up while I was mindlessly scrolling. And he gets a lot of hate in the comments. Some of it is funny, some of it is lame, but it's very much like reading those celebrity gossip threads except that people are actually posting it directly on his reels. So I like watching his videos because he's attractive, but I also like reading the entire peanut gallery's generally stupid collective output afterward.

This is weird. Why does this this appeal to me?
