This confirms something of my superficial understanding of fanfic culture on reddit - that there's a lot of focus on pissing contests rather than actual discussion.

I stopped giving recs on Reddit coz people would downvote comments just so that their get to top. Or because of bad mood. The whole threads with -1 downvotes.

I’m exclusively on Reddit for fandom but never even thought to look for a sub like this LOL I just go to the subs about my actual fandoms. This looks so messy and it wouldn’t be fun trying to find anything relevant to my interests.
