... I'm so fucking tired of people thinking that Portland has become a violent cesspool. I live in inner Portland, it's as it has always been. I, a middle aged woman, have no fear of walking my neighborhood alone at night. Everything is still clean, there aren't needles lying everywhere, there isn't graffiti everywhere. There aren't junkies breaking in to everyone's cars and houses. Leave us out of your shit arguments.

I don't think you can in fact easily see this, and I would question anyone who thinks it is easy to see, especially considering the data that suggests a lack of housing as a significant contributor to social ills and not, you know, grammar.
