Oh, I don't know about that. It definitely wouldn't be as tasty as if you ate it while it was still warm, but it wouldn't necessarily be inedible. Mantou is fairly soft and moist to begin with, having been steamed. So it'd likely dry out and get rather chewy if it sits at room temperature too long. Your main worry would probably be mold if it got damp, but that would take a while.

It's mantou. It's born damp.

Eh, that's probably overstating a little. The way mantou is cooked involves steam, but it's not supposed to be soggy or anything. Unless the environment is also very humid, it's going to start drying out immediately.

These look yummy. If I ever get a chance to try them, I definitely will.

I love all kinds of breads but I've never had steamed.

Yeah it wouldn't become dry fast. But probably at the same rate as some vegetables that person can carry
