(Anonymous) 2023-10-24 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)Hmm, I don't agree that all current terminology existed 20 years ago or that terms were used the same way at all. Language changes quickly as time passes. But I also think if you headcanon a character as gay they could know the popular terminology of their time (including that which is in use today) from IRL community and social spaces. So it's definitely not automatically unrealistic or only appropriate for internet-using characters either.
