Re: Is there anything that's beyond the pale?

There is a minuscule chance of a kid's hand going evil of its own accord. (Actually probably zero, but just in case, we never say zero.)

But I'll humor you. In the case a hand must be cut off, it would be to preserve the life of the kid and probably those around him. Hopefully, they'd give him anesthesia if that was an option, unless there was no time, and the hand was literally and impossibly shooting out shards of glass and killing everyone around the kid (or some other harmful/life threatening scenario). Which again, would not happen.

That actually is a thing. It's called Alien Hand Syndrome. https://www.medlink.com/articles/alien-hand-syndrome

Considering that it's a neurological disorder, I doubt cutting off the hand would work, but I wouldn't doubt that it's been tried. Especially before we figured out it was neurological.

Yeah, I wouldn't hold up a bank, but if I had a bomb strapped to me I guess I'd have no choice.

I mean, most slaves tried to escape, not kill their masters.

But if your master raped your daughter, I'd say he needs killin' and I wouldn't even feel bad about it.

Re: What Movie Are You Looking Forward to Seeing?

I'm looking forward to seeing Barbie and Oppenheimer on streaming too.

I just don't enjoy theaters anymore. I invariably have to take a bathroom break and miss some of it.

They're being targeted for the disease they may or may not carry though.

Thank you secret maker! You always nail the image choice. ❤

DA

It would only be genocide if you claimed that every person who shares their race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, etc etc, also had that disease and they all needed to die. If you're targeting just a small area, like a town, or a building, regardless of the race, ethnicity etc etc of the people in there, that's a quarantine.

I like both the movie and the book. I think their respective endings work for each up of them.

That's the thing I liked most about the book! There was lots of little dog culture stuff like that song. Adams is really good at writing that.

Hope you like it! :)

The literal definition of genocide specifies people targeted for their race/ethnicity/nationality/political group. Something core to a person's being or identity, in other words, things that someone might target, hate, and hurt/kill them for.

A disease doesn't fall under that. No matter how much you want to twist the definition.

Re: Anime that focus on adults without fanservice

If you can ignore the problematic mangaka, the Rurouni Kenshin anime. While there are a few characters who are kids, the focus is on the adult characters and the story is great for the first two major story arcs, especially the Kyoto Arc.

I watched that movie along with Felidae and Watership Down in a marathon of mature animated animal movies while on a depressed bender in college. I remember really liking it though... I should revist it.

It's already free because it is Israel.

You're nothing more than a bigoted, anti Semitic troll. Go get murdered.

Israel did nothing beforehand that made the October 7th massacre justifiable and okay. Anyone that thinks so is nothing more than a psychopath that hates Jews and wants them dead.

OMG, this is a great secret. I can see this! Dharma definitely had serial killer vibes.
