Is this like one of those weird fake fun shows like Don't Hug Me I'm Scared? Where is is fun but actually creepy?

Sorta-off, but the story is told through blogs on their site instead of youtube, it's an ARG about a group trying to archive content of an old puppet show. It's nice, impressive effort placed into it.

It's baffling yet totally unsurprising to me, lol. Wally has a certain ineffable Tumblr Sexyman quality to him, and Welcome Home in general gives off the vibe of being made by someone who was really into creepypasta and 2014 tumblr growing up (affectionate).

I really enjoy Welcome Home as a creative project (I recently introduced my wife to it via Night Mind's videos so we've been talking about it a lot!) but I don't think I'll get fannish about it-- especially considering how much of the Tumblr tag seems to consist of self-insert ocs.
