I’ve been immersed in the Rivers of London books (rereading the earlier ones as I wait for my library holds). And now animal-human hybrids are just really unnerving for me.

I’m sure I’ll get over it, but that’s my primary association right now.

There are certain fandoms of mine where you can easily suspend your disbelief [I.E Trigun fandom's recent obsession with drawing Vash and Knives with the most eldritch horror-looking limbs and no one batting an eye at it]

As far as I can tell my current fandom uses hybrid to mean "furry" and I wish they'd just call them furries, because then I don't have to worry about what their parents were having sex with.

I never saw this until I got into the MHA fandom, which is has heaps of it. I also don't understand! It's fans seem to be not furries either? What is happening to the world

this is really common in mcyt fandoms. I'm not a big fan, but I can go along with it as long as it's not too out there or too weird for the character/person

There was this thread on TV Tropes more than a decade ago where people were doing bad translations as jokes, and someone finished it up with a really good, really effective translation of this scene. The commander desperately sends out everything he has left, and Cats smugly tells him he has no hope left and surrender is his only option.
