Trying to figure out if I should buy something in bulk or not

I love sour Mike and Ike's. I can only find them in dollar tree around me. But, I see I can buy a 28.8oz bag off amazon. But it looks cheaper by A LOT to just buy the theater boxes. Which doesn't make since to me.

So, what is cheaper?
28.8oz bag for $11.75
Same amount in boxes. Boxes are 5oz each for $1.25.

Do what the numbers say? Bulk isn't always cheaper

$11.75/28.8oz = $0.41 per oz

$1.25/5oz = $0.25 per oz

OR

28.8/5 = 5.76 boxes in a bag. 5.76 boxesa*$1.25 = $7.20

Boxes are cheaper.

You can get 30 ounces for $7.50, if you get 6 theater boxes. Put another way, for less than the Amazon price, you can get 9 theater boxes and it will give you 45 ounces for $11.25.
