I don't recall making this secret, but this is 100% me. Villains being villains are my jam. No need to woobify them, and to me that ruins what makes them great.

Yes! People need to stop changing the villain (or even just an amoral asshole) to make them the good guy. Their villainy is what makes them interesting!

Does "He did lots of horrible things and I forgive him for all of them" fall under this opinion? That's how I usually feel about awful villains I love. That they're bad, but not wrong.

And quite often I feel this way because I dislike or don't give a shit about the good guys or cardboard victims they were done against.
