And to be clear NerdSync isn't giving Ezra a pass! But I think it would be interesting to dig into why he first assumed it was bigotry. Think about that In-Tribe/Out-Tribe stuff!

Another thing I've thought of in the while since I prompted this secret is how everyone tries to either/or the the situation with the young NB Native American activist. If the kiddo is telling the truth that their parents are transphobic (often with an analysis of the parents' court documents) then Ezra is in the right! If the parents are just doing their best than Ezra's a creep! My siblings in Hermes! Folks in rough situations are even more vulnerable to further abuse because they don't have a strong safety net. Maybe the parents are great but use imperfect terminology, maybe they're AWFUL, none of that makes Miller's behavior ok. It's just kind of a nonsense point.

It's like we(/the couple of people I've seen analyze the situation) REALLY want to figure out who is the White hat and who is the Black Hat so we can support/condemn appropriately. But real life is messy and one thing doesn't override another.

As a counter example: the woman with the children who claims her husband is abusive and THAT'S why she took her kids and moved across the globe to Miller's compound that is full of drugs and guns. I have no reason to doubt her claims about her husband, but it's still super fucked up to have kids in that situation. Miller has TONS of cash they could have paid for a hotel room for the lady there is no excuse for this bullshit, assuming they really wanted to help and not just kidnap some children. Also, weirdly, I haven't seen anyone dig into the abusive allegations against this husband. I wonder if it's because I've been the most interested in LGBT+ opinions and they haven't been as interested in this one issue.
