Honestly, I've never seen what the problem was. It's clever, a bit silly and light-hearted.

Then we are fated to be mortal enemies. My first language is French, brunette comes from brun which means brown, so if you wanted to make up the blue version it would have to be bleuette, nothing else is acceptable to me.

They have tinkering with a word's spelling or pronunciation in order to make a rhyme or a pun in French. You can choose to ignore it for personal reasons, but don't blame it on la langue.

I get it from the aural perspective, but I'm irritated by the fact that from a linguistic perspective, I feel like it should be bleuette or caerulette. And a green-haired person should be a verd or a virid. And a pink-haired person should obviously be a pinkthink or a fabula rosa (kidding, I mean rosette is right there).

This is extra hilarious to me because the character is Marinette Dupain-Cheng from Miraculous Ladybug so the puns would be even worse.

Bluette is as dumb as ravenette or any neologism for hair color.
