What sucks is that fantasy and sci-fi books with nonwhite main characters that aren't about racism have been around for a long time, but you couldn't tell because the covers were whitewashed. The Xenogenesis trilogy by Octavia Butler immediately comes to mind.

I dunno. I can't imagine someone who doesn't want to read about racism being totally okay with all the, well, basically constant rape in that series.
