Art Trends you hate

The first secret reminds me of when that weird...overly smooth look was popular for Tumblr are a while back. I saw it a lot in the SPN fandom.

Making everything look like anime.

Ugh, I hate that too.

I don't mind it exactly, but I really don't care for it when it's obvious the artist is trying to copy the style before they even have a grasp on art/drawing/shading/depth perception/proportions/etc.

(I'll also add I don't go around telling people I don't like their stuff. I just keep it to myself, because I also realize we all have to start somewhere.)

That one artstyle I see a lot of people in the FNAF fandom using (think BlueyCapsules). The noses are always massive, limbs are super rigid, and the coloring is usually really flat and dark. I feel bad typing this because many of the artists who draw in this style are either children and/or just starting their drawing journey, but seeing that artstyle gives me a headache every time.

There was an artstyle I saw around for a while where noses looked like triangles and were a totally different color than the rest of the skin? It was so ugly.

UGH I remember that.

Animal Crossing artists are still the only ones who can make that style look good.

Oh man, I still see one person on tumblr doing that and I always think... wtf? Is this a lazy way of not learning how to draw noses, or what?

Where anyone who enjoys to do art in any capacity are expected to monetize every little thing.

Not against people who want to do commissions or things like that (good for them if they can make a business that way) - but people who share the art they created as a hobby and get badgered by people insisting that they should do it as a business. Sometimes that's not possible or don't want to deal with the stress that comes with that field of business.

The really generic doe-eyed girls with big boobs AI art style. You know the one.

That weird, over-emphasized blush. You know, the dark red cheeks/nose/forehead thing that makes everyone look drunk or like they did the fusion dance with Lady Elaine Fairchilde?

I was gonna say, the overblushed everything. It looks absolutely horrific when on knees/elbows any other joints. I don't get it.

Oh, yeah, there was a popular artist in HP fandom, and I HATED their art, because they did this in every piece of art.

I feel like it's not quite as popular as it was a few years ago but it's still common enough and yeah, I don't like it either. Adding bright red knuckles/elbows/knees to the list. Characters drawn in that style always look like they have a really nasty cold and/or are the biggest klutzes on earth because they keep hitting their joints on something.

For some reason the most popular cover art now here is this pseudo realistic pseudo anime art. I. Hate. It.

Chibi style art where I can't actually tell any of the characters apart.
