i would say that that wasn't the point at first. the point of the technicals for instance, was the ability to interpret a recipe without knowing the end product. so it was fun because they had to use their knowledge of baking, but they always had enough time when they knew that. and the point of the first bake was usually knowing the basics or consistency. and the signature bake was creativity/artistry. so i would say no that wasn't the point, and that not being the point was part of the charm.
