The problem is more complicated than that, though. Sometimes they're asking bakers to do things that would normally take overnight, or require better equipment than they have. For example, the ice cream cake challenge... that is not something you would do within hours, using a small fridge with small freezer that's standing outdoors in summer, so of course very few people managed to end up with a cake where the ice cream WASN'T melting. That's not reasonable.
