*sigh* Kinda. I mean, he's not trying to be? Sometimes he thinks he's being funny. He's sincerely convinced that you're wrong about something and he's helping you out by setting you straight. Like the dog treat thing, he clearly read something or heard something about how there's a type of dog treat made out of dried bull penis and bully stick sounds a bit like gullet stick, and because that was news to him, he assumed that you don't know it, either. It didn't matter that I've been buying them for years for my dog or that he's never owned a dog in his life, he just thinks there's no way I could be right?

To be fair, he doesn't mind being corrected about things he got wrong, so he assumes that it's okay for him to "correct" other people (even if he doesn't actually know what he's talking about) and they won't mind/shouldn't mind because he doesn't mind!
