Ugh, I feel you. I totally get the struggle between not wanting someone not to come per se but also not wanting to deal with them. I have an uncle (my dad's brother) who's been coming for Christmas since he stopped working several years ago and he always stays for three weeks. Which is just far too long. He's mildly mentally handicapped and just... really annoying and rude but he's my dad's only living relative from his side of the family and he's a very lonely guy so we grin an bear it but damn if it isn't a chore.

And now I've been dreading Christmas even more because we got into a major altercation with my brother earlier this year where he punched me in the face a few times (yay!) and I really don't want him here but he'll probably come anyway and I don't know the best way to go about it. So I've been ignoring anything about Christmas (which is tough considering Christmas stuff in stores and commercials are in full swing by now and I get flashs of anxiety every time I see them).

Holy crap, that sucks and I'm sorry. Three weeks is way too long for guests that I actually like, ffs. I'm also sorry you've got to deal with actual physical violence, that's just not right. Good luck and stay safe.

Thank you so much! There's a saying in my country: Fish and visitors start to smell after three days. If that ain't the truth lol!
