Re: Dating and names?

Pre-transition, I went on one date with a guy who, his name and my birthname... the closest example I can think of for you is say we'd been named Samantha and Samuel, but that doesn't *quite* get across how kind of cringe-inducing the idea of introducing ourselves as a couple *could* have been.

Like, I didn't personally hate his name (although one of my sisters did), but the combination...

Anyway, the name thing isn't the reason we did not make it. Me finally going through a gender crisis that had been a long time coming was a bigger factor. Silver lining, I can't think of many other guys' names that would inherently sound bad with my name now, so I will never *actually* have to end a potential relationship with a guy because of how weird/twee/cringe our wedding invitations would be.
