I find myself thinking that about a lot of fandoms (and even a lot of published media) but then, I can also remember what it felt like to experience love for the first time and how it was so overpowering that I couldn't imagine it would ever change, or fade, let alone go away. That's a hard sell to somebody who's in the throes of it, no matter how many Olds tell you that can happen (and will happen, unless you work on your relationship). So they tell themselves that that was true love, not like the love you have, nobody understands how precious and special it is lmao

I think that's a facet of reality you have to experience for yourself to fully understand.
