Nothing awful about it, unless you think LGBTQ, neurodivergent, disabled, and mentally ill people should be condescended to like children.

This is not even to mention all the oxygen that's been taken up by privileged high-functioning people, who seem to make it their mission in life to destroy all services and treatment for those who cannot survive without intensive care. The only people I've seen claiming that all people in those groups are demanding to be condescended to or treated special are you fuckers.

A lot of us just want to be treated like people. And part of that is not dogged, harassed or baited like a bunch of fucking high school bully level assholes who never grew out of it.

No most people aren't like you. Plenty of people are considerate and understanding and willing to be fucking open minded. You keep saying "oh plenty of people on KF are those things too"

The people who aren't okay with those harassing doxxing bullying assholes are not just "people who want to be treated like special snowflakes" . I've seen people who support that site justifying it with shit like this "Well those people we make fun of are because they're all awful so its allright"
Yeah , them being allegedly awful doesn't mean you aren't.

The funny thing about all of this is that I've never been to Kiwifarms. But you guys, you guys standing on your high horses - you have, for some reason. And you're mad about what you've seen there, about this place that you know is awful but that you've actively sought out. You don't have to go there. It's really easy not to, especially now.

The world is hard. You know where that attitude comes from? Not from wanting to be awful, but from experiencing awful things, and then seeing a bunch of very comfortable people who've been made fun of on the internet, on sites that they don't have to go to, talk about how bad they have it. It is the height of privilege. There are cis, straight, able-bodied people out there getting bombed to death right now. You don't suddenly become immune to awful things once you cease to be whatever marginalized identity you belong to. Suffering itself is a part of being human, a part of being alive, so "being treated like people" doesn't get you out of it. Great if it did, but it doesn't.

I don't GO to kiwifarms because I stopped caring about their opinion. But I am aware of the effect they and people who like to make a sport of needling "lolcows" have on people.
People kill themselves. Not because they're weak but because it gets to a point where death and the nothingness of non existence is more appealing than continuing to live and have anything you say or do used to further mock you

All I'm saying is that kiwifarms BULLY people and that's shitty of them. Having a hard life yourself doesn't excuse looking down on people because you think they aren't handling things as well as you think they should be. Thats how you come off by saying "well they just shouldn't be lolcows then"

At the end of the day, what all this amounts to is an argument that a lot of people should not be on the internet. And, really, the internet was a mistake; it amplifies parts of ourselves that are better left quiet.

But I still have a hard time with the idea that people who deliberately seek out places where they know they're going to be miserable aren't somewhat responsible for that misery. There's an easy solution for the problem, and for some reason, everyone is against it (is everyone an addict at this point? Probably!).
