Well, except for a some of the music, bunch of the books, movies, video games, and advances in science and technology, yeah, there was a lot that sucked.

I feel that way about the 80s. Though everyone else remembers differently, it seems.

Wasn't there for the seventies, but I was there for the eighties. I'm with a friend--the aesthetics and the music and some of the culture was great, but everything else sucked.

I remember the 90s very well, and while a lot of that sucked too, I feel like it was overall more hopeful than where we are now. Can't tell if that's a result of being an adult or a result of the world going to shit, though, honestly.

I don't like people romanticizing eras but I am pretty sure in all eras were some things that sucked a lot, some that didn't and also life was different for all people. (90s weren't great but there are things I am being nostalgic about)

I hate them. I acknowledge that some do help people but i think overall they are unhealthy and there are better ways to help or soread your info.

As someone who has no interest in having children, I have somehow started following a few parenting-focused people on YouTube. But only ones who never show their kids or share embarrassing/private information.

There's a youtuber called Swell Entertainment and her thoughts on family vloggers really hit a cord:
A child should have their own bank account for the money that they make on yt, especially if its the case where the whole channel would fail/change purpose without involvement of said child/children.

Although I still think family vloggers are the worst. Its true that you'll have some good advice and intentions with those genuinely trying to share helpful advice or bring up certain discussions on raising kids - but I'm pretty sure that can still be done without having to put vulnerable children on the spot.

my feelings are not mixed: child labor is bad*, and broad access to children by people they don't know and can't consent to isn't good either.

*people always bring up like farms, and like...if the farm is not solely about sustaining your home or community, but legit about having a business, no i don't think children should be working there either.

Nah. Different people like different things. I like LotR and Middle-earth stuff on the whole, but I can also admit there are bits I find boring or unnecessary. I think a lot of it depends on how old a person is when they read LotR for the first time.

I think the kind of celebs people might actually make the joke about with any degree of seriousness are also the ones smart enough to stay away from career politics. Like Jon Stewart, for example.

NGL it's funniest when OPs arrive going "why would you assume my secret is about [very common occurrence or opinion or complaint]? How dare you assume that I am, or mention that I sound like, one of [the groups of people I sound like]!? Can't you tell that, based on nothing, I am the exception or meant something different from what I literally said?"

I am brain dead latley, total lack of attention span or ability to think through plots. I really hope it's due to the cold I'm struggling with but either way its left me struggling to find something to watch. I've just been putting nature docs on and zoning in and out to interesting or pretty animal facts.
