I hate that so many timescales given in SFF are so damn short. Two hundred years? Four hundred years? Hell, even a couple of thousand years is not that long ago. Especially in settings when you have characters who live for centuries as a normal lifespan for their species. You want your setting to be ancient, actually throw in an epoch or two to your dating mix.

You should try Chinese Xianxia/cultivation novels because I have the exact opposite problem with those. They often have thousands to tens of thousands (+) of years pass and it's actually really weird (mainly because despite all that time passing, the world doesn't change all that much).
