Capaldi was a great Doctor, and shifted Merch. His successor, they literally could not give the merch away that was how bad and unloved they were. Even Colin Baker merch outsold them. That ought to have been the wake up call.

I couldn’t stand Eleven but he was hugely popular and sold almost as much merch as Ten, and in a shorter timeframe.
