5. I won't post this anonymously since I think our hard application process isn't a secret, and I wouldn't really mind if the people who vaguely get mentioned in a very negative light here found this comment somehow:

I co-run a pretty large internet RP ([livejournal.com profile] landels_damned) that we do get a lot of apps for and which we DO reject quite a few for, whether due to bad writing or bad characterization. (I'm strangely proud that we have the balls to do that.) Anyway, I usually feel pretty bad about it and try to be as gentle--but honest--about the reasons why we rejected in the rejection emails, but... to be honest, sometimes the apps really are so bad that I feel relieved for being in a position where I can honestly give the apper a wake-up call about the quality of their writing or characterization. (And... sometimes I do feel bad about even that until I see the person (or people) with horribly, incredibly OOC apps trying to blow off their being rejected as us mods being overly subjective. Of course, that's totally untrue: We reject OOC apps, not apps that differ from our personal views on a particular character's personality but which could still be very reasonably based in canon.) Of course, then there are some people who are extremely polite and wonderful who ask for more details on why they were rejected so that they can form a better app for next time, which I think is very admirable. :3

In short, yeah. I feel bad most of the time, (especially if they clearly put a lot of work into the app. :/), but sometimes... it's very satisfying, especially if you find out afterwards that the player reacts immaturely and distastefully (in which case you're glad you didn't let the player in in the first place due to their wanky personality.)

Hope no one is offended by this. ^^; I guess I'm just paranoid about wank.

It's one of the things that makes Landamned great. If the application process wasn't so rigorous, Landamned wouldn't be as awesome and wank-free as it is.

It's really wondrous that you guys can read them all in such a small period of time, though. 8D You deserve a big cake.

Mm, big cake.

Awww, thank you. ;; <333 I'm really, truly glad when people appreciate the difficulty of the application process instead of complaining about it. T_T SO THANK YOU <3333
