As someone who did watch it, you made the right call lol. She was really unlikable and I actually wanted to like her. Of course it wasn't down to the actor herself because my issue with the series was definitely 80% the writing.
Arguably there were a few good things about it, but it certainly wasn't fun to watch. I ended up putting more effort into watching it than I would have done for any other show.

Also Yasmin deserved better than the doctor. We only saw the emotional growth for romantic feelings on her side throughout the series, whereas the Doctor was just stunted for the vast majority and only really revealing anything away from her companions - so when they got 'together' in the last episode it just felt more like they got shoved together for the sake of it.
Its even more frustrating because literally in Moffats final series, we had an out lesbian woman who had multiple attractions along with a relationship that was much more forward (despite being so brief).

The following series felt like a downgrade - and I damn well hated moffats run. But even if the 13th Doctor was played by a man, I doubt it would have made a difference with the shitty writing to go along with the quirky plank of wood personality for the 13th Doctor.
