Yeah, I've never once had to get up at 5 for a 9-5 job. Not sure where anon is getting that idea from.

Not even. First shift on an "Industrial Labor" job is also typically either 8-4 or 9-5. If you're working second or third, you still don't need to get up at 5AM. Maybe if you're working a flex shift, but that's the trade in for extra days off.

You're getting up earlier for a construction job, but since those are mostly union jobs, that's also typically between 8-9 hours a shift or they have to pay you overtime.
