I think more people would admit what a mediocre writer Ursula K. LeGuin was if she wasn't such an amazing worldbuilder.

Disagree. Her worldbuilding is indeed amazing, but I and every other Le Guin fan I've discussed her work with have loved far more than just that about her writing, including her characters, story ideas, setting descriptions, and writing style in general. (After her first handful of short stories and novels anyway. She was an interesting writer from the beginning, but imo and that of other fans I've spoken to, she became a great writer sometime in the years 1967-1969.)
