I am an X-Men fan and I agree that there are some fans who never got over X-Men not being the most popular Marvel team/ensemble anymore and they are especially bitter about anyone coming to Marvel from the MCU. Also there are some real gatekeeping assholes in the fandom. If you've run into them first, I see why you wouldn't want to join in.
