I like to sometimes pretend actors are the same character throughtout their filmography.

So, like, Stabler (SVU) worked cases before sex crimes (Sin City 2), cracked and became Chris Keller (OZ), who worked for the mob for a short while (Bound), and escaped Oswald State Pen, and became Nick, the cop from Happy!

Stabler would be less annoying if he was called out more and not portrayed as heroic. In a more grey show like The Wire he'd be a better character. I feel the same way about Voight on Chicago PD, although he at least sometimes gets called out.

i've heard a few stray comments, especially in the last couple years because he was doing promo for the spin-off, that annoyed the shit out of me for how much they justified eliot's shittiness at a very interesting time for cop love lmao, but for now i'm chalking it up to promo, and enjoying his non l&o stuff

I'm seeing now I'm woefully unacquainted with his work in general, I've genuinely only seen him as Stabler in live-action. I realized he was the voice of Steel in Captain Fall and thought, okay that's fun, he's playing the Only Sane Cop in a world of complete morons - although kind of quirky, that's nice. Then I decided to finally watch Harley Quinn and omg his take on Jim Gordon is the stuff of legends. The man commits!

And just the other day I was watching Rick and Morty and found out he plays cum-gutter Jesus, which is just *chef's kiss*.
