Well, to be fair, they didn't know what the ending would be until last year.

I don't think they should have even gotten that far. They didn't have to do Elizabeth's whole reign just because it was a show about her. They should have found a place to stop a few seasons ago that didn't touch on the stuff that is still really painful for the British people and also very likely to get them sued if they weren't careful.

I agree. It was most interesting when it was about the beginnings of her reign. Continuing on into the modern era was a major mistake.

I don't think she is self aware enough to play the role in fiction as she performed it IRL.
