That seems so strange to me. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but are you saying that, when you have a parasocial or casual relationship with someone, it doesn't occur to you that they exist outside of that?

Only sometimes and momentarily, but yeah. A streamer will mention something about their day job and I’ll have this tiny mental shift that oh, this person doesn’t stream full time. Or someone’s author’s note will say “sorry for the delay, I’ve had the grandkids this week”, and I realize I’d been picturing them as a person who’s a single, no-kids(-yet?), young professional.
