One of my favorite series has a character who's a professional actor for what's basically VR adventures-- he records his experiences in a fantasy world, then other people pay to "be" him by watching live or through recordings later. Those parts of the book are written in first person, because the character is acting them for an audience-- when he's not acting, the narrative is third person like a normal piece of fiction. I really like the way that the author uses the POV as a device.
